Nigerian-born Nelson "Nelly's Echo" Emokpae fled his home country at 15 with his entire family and just two suitcases. The family settled in Baltimore, where Nelly's Echo honed his vocal skills singing with his brothers and learned the guitar. The 32-year-old singer/songwriter quit his job as a physical therapist and is now pursuing music full time.
