Legend has it that Michael Alvarado emerged from the womb with a piano and a soothing voice box. It turns out that infants cannot play the piano, nor sing full melodies. Also, birth usually consists of constant screaming rather than harmony; therefore, the previous statement was a probably a lie. What we do know is that Michael was conceived with a passion for music and would soon use this passion to formulate his love for writing and performing. 
  
After trading in sports for piano lessons in 2nd grade, Alvarado started to compose his own tunes in hopes to avoid practicing his assigned pieces. This rebellion progressed into Alvarado’s liking and creativity for Pop music. With a little help from falling in love, he began to add words to these melodies that consumed his brain. As a result, Michael released his first EP, “Waste the Day”, in July of 2008 as a sophomore in college at Appalachian State University. This easy-going collection of 4 acoustic songs base their meaning on the joy of finding love for the first time. The simplicity makes for an effortless, light-hearted listen, leaving an inevitable trail of smiles from one iPod to the next :) 
  
In just a little over a year preceding “Waste the Day”, Alvarado acquired the ability to grow facial hair. He even gained in inch in height, lost 10 pounds, and developed a severe crush for the Food Network. During this time, he also continued to challenge himself as a musician and a writer. After several balled up songs in the trashcan, Michael finally settled on a batch of fresh tunes he felt extremely excited about. He preheated the oven and popped the tracks into Antennae Studios in Nashville, TN, under master chef, friend, and producer, Nathan Thomas. (Notice how this Bio has suddenly shifted to cooking terms). After a good, thorough baking of mixing and mastering, the songs are finally ready to be served in one immaculate EP, “Love is All”.
