Porto Alegre Death Metal band DISTRAUGHT emerged touting the demo 'To Live Better'. In 1994 the band shared a three way split CD for Encore Records with SCARS and ZERO VISION. The four tracks submitted for this release were recorded by a DISTRAUGHT line-up of lead vocalist André Meyer, guitarist Fernando Soares, bass player Alexandre Figueiro with Hugo Guaraná Lobo on the drums. 
For their 1998 debut full length album 'Nervous System' Meyer and Guarana Lobo were joined by new recruits Leandro Mohr on guitar and bassist Sandro Magoo. By second opus 'Infinite Abyssal' DISTRAUGHT's line up had been completely overhauled with only Meyer remaining. His new quartet of players numbered guitarists Ricardo Silveira and Marcos Pinto, bassist Gustavo Stuepp and drummer Éverson Krentz. 
Their 2002 live album witnessed covers of SLAYER's 'Angel Of Death' and 'Raining Blood' alongside a take on SEPULTURA's 'Escape To The Void'.
