Vanessa Evelyn Vissepó Díaz was born November 12, 1983 in the town of Wurzburg, Germany. Her father was an officer of the United States Army stationed in Germany. Three years after her birth the family relocated to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, this is the native homeland of her parents. As a little girl, Vanessa displayed a notable inclination for singing; however it wasn't till she was eight years old that she began to sing as a guest at neighboring churches where she had the opportunity to sing and share with renowned Latin singers. She continued to pursue this talent such that at the age of 10 she was able to fulfill her dream of recording. Her first production was titled "Mi Revelación" (My Revelation).
Being faithful to the calling that she felt at such a young age, she continued to develop her ministry, recording her second album by the age of 12 titled "Destellos de Vida" (Gleams Of Life) which included themes such as "El Poder de Su Sangre" (The Power of His Blood) and " Estoy sanando Tu Herida" ( I am healing you wound). This production was pivotal in characterizing Vanessa as one of Puerto Rico's best balled artists, winning the Tito Lara Best Female Ballad Artist Award of the year 1999.
Vanessa was able to pursue her academic studies in Music Education in the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras. There she took part in the Choir for three years. In the midst of her academic studies she was able to release her third production titled "Abrazame" (Embrace Me). This production was released to the market in the year 2000, where it ranked number 1 in sales on the radio and in magazines. This production marked Vanessa's successful debut as a Singer/Songwriter. As her ministry continued to develop and expand Vanessa later transferred to the University Interamericana de Puerto Rico to continue her studies in Popular Music.
Vanessa's fourth musical production titled "Estas en mi" (You're in me) received the Paoli award for the Best Christian Singer for the year 2005. This production contains themes from Puertorican renowned christian composers such as: Lorell Quiles, Charlie Hernandez, and Mizraim Esquilín. This production also includes a beautiful duet with singer Carlos Manuel titled "Son mil razones" (A million reasons).
Throughout her long musical career Vanessa has always demonstrated her love for souls and has a pure heart and mind in knowing that all the glory, honor and praise belong to the Lord. Through Him and for Him Vanessa accredits all her accomplishments and is blessed to enjoy all of the blessings He has given her. Included in her multitude of blessings is not only her musical career but her beautiful marriage to Benjamin (Bengie) García, a great servant of God and soul mate. Together they are determined to always follow God's will and to pursue their dreams and goals. Besides sharing in the musical ministry; being that they are both musicians, they share in the love for their 3 beautiful children, Kaci Grace, Jaycob Benjamin, and Amanda Juliette. As parents they hope that their dedication to the Lord, be an example to their children.
Presently, Vanessa lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her family. They are members of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church led by Bishop Eddie L. Long.
In New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Bishop Eddie Long has a vision to impact the Latino community with a Bilingual service. Vanessa forms part of the praise and worship team and her husband Bengie serves as a translator during the service. There, Vanessa has had the opportunity to serve as a vocalist to big artists such as Jennifer Hudson. Vanessa has also had the privilege serve as background vocalist for Latin American artist such as: Samuel Hernandez, Danny Berrios, Angelo and Veronica, Ruth Mixter and Lucía Parker.
Vanessa is very grateful for all the blessings that the Lord has given her; in and through each stage of her life.
