by  Joslyn LayneVocalist and composer Gisburg was born in Salzberg, Austria in 1966. She studied flute there before moving to Berlin in 1985. While in Berlin, Gisburg had a vocal duo (Alliin Gaa) with Anna Clenti, and performed in Dieter Schnebel's ensemble. She moved to New York in 1992, and since then, has worked with Anthony Coleman and Roy Nathanson for the Knitting Factory label, and with cellist Michelle Kinney. Gisburg also has three releases as a leader on Tzadik since the mid-90s; the first two are approached as 'imaginary movie music, ' and the third, Trust (1999), features a solo vocal work.
