SONG OF FALLEN LEAVES
I can’t eat and I can’t sleep, more or less I come to see you,
only seldom nights can bring us dreams,
all my body’s tremblin’ as I put my feet on the doorstep,
summer sun has given its last beam.
Songs of fallen leaves, swingin’ rhythm of the tree chimes,
brought by northern breeze, when summer’s faded out.
Please don’t wait for me, I’m just strollin’ in the meantime,
fall is quiet and peaceful, birds are headed south.
Further down the road that’s nearly full of summer memories
and I feel like jumpin’ in this stream of leaves.
As they’re gently ringin’ in the echo of my footsteps,
I can feel my friend November breathe.
Songs of fallen leaves, swingin’ rhythm of the tree chimes,
brought by northern breeze, when summer’s faded out.
Please don’t wait for me, I’m just strollin’ in the meantime,
fall is quiet and peaceful, birds are headed south.
