My thoughts are rushed

Am I still enough

For the people that I’ve told myself I love

My cheeks are flushed

With my thinning blood

I shut down when I think said I’ve too much

Is this how it was all supposed to end

Who we are is just a wave, pulling at the skin

Falling out and breaking in, all of what’s within

We try and stay above the rush, but you can’t swim

Against the tide, against the wave, alone again

My body’s numb

Did I mess things up

I say as I tell myself not to run

I’m chasing out

The sinking doubt

But it’s over cause I know it’s never done

Is my head just too far gone to mend
